No issues getting started, but a couple of things to note. The timezone and locale are set to China/Shanghai and Chinese -- simple to change for anyone used to Linux. A little more obscure was the Urls in the sources.list file were cn.archive.ubuntu.com and not us.archive.ubuntu.com, which most folks in the US will want. This mini PC is great for internet surfing, streaming, emails, office type stuff. The customer service was also great I had a small issue and contacted them they were fast to respond and took care of my issue immediately.I use this as my main fixed computer in my office and have had no issues with it. I have it tied into my security system and cameras without issue. I don't have a ton of programs running through it as it's mainly used for daily needs not including gaming, but it seems capable and could if I needed to. Definitely a good purchase!!I'm only using this PC to run a pair of services I wrote while managing some hardware inputs. It's been running continuously day and night for a month straight with no problems. Surface temp is warm but that's about it.so far so good thank youThe "ON" button on this little machine imploded--went INSIDE the chassis--upon first gentle PUSH. It is fragile, inept, substandard "sturdiness" by any normal measure. I thought that with its LINUX Ubuntu-based system, it would be a reliable "fan-less" computer for travel. Sadly, it was not. It died on first try. It came from Shanghai, CHINA (didn't know that beforehand). Horrible "quality control." The assembler was inept at "ON/OFF button" installation, and/or the button housing was very poorly designed. Otherwise it looked well-designed and I regret not even being able to turn it "ON". "RETURN" was easy via AMAZON, but I'd rather have a reliable MINI Fanless Linux PC.Really nice mini PC that I needed for a database I'm building. No frills, very small and mounts on back of the monitor. No fan noise and it barely gets warm. This is a good one.First off, I bought this to try and troubleshoot some of the streaming apps like YouTubeTV and ESPN+ as these are what I watch on most occasions. The plan was to have this connected into my 85" Sony 4K TV in my man cave.SETUP: So unboxing was uneventful. Hooked it up and turned it on no problem. Got Windows setup to the point of seeing a desktop and as I usually do, go into settings and proceeded to get it caught up with Windows Update. This is where the frustration began. In the midst of updating, it required a reboot. No big deal and is what normally happens so I commenced reboot. I step away while it's rebooting and comeback to the TV showing the "No Signal" screen. Thinking that the computer just did the screen turn off command as the light and fan were still on, I move the mouse to wake it up. Still no screen. Press a couple of buttons on the keyboard, no screen. Not wanting to reset and possibly ruin the update install, I let it sit for a bit hoping the screen would come back on. It never did. I came back ~1hr later and still no screen. I press the power button and try a reboot, still no screen. I press and hold the power button to shut it down and try a cold boot, no screen. After a few attempts and no screen, I move it from the TV to a regular monitor and finally got it booted up with a visible desktop and windows. I finish doing all the updates connected to the monitor with no issues.Network: I decided to give the network adapters a test. Not impressed. I have 1Gig connection and doing a speed test over Wi-Fi gave me about 100Mbps. So I connected a CAT6E cable and can barely get 300Mbps. Wanting to make sure it's not a slow connection or prime traffic time, I did a speed test on my main desktop which is 12 years old and I was able to get full 800-950Mbps. like I normally do. I have tried numerous speed tests with this mini computer and it has never gone above 300Mbps. So to me, that is false advertising when it says it has a 1G ethernet but it won't go above 300Mbps.Video and live streaming: Now it was time to test YouTubeTV. Holy buffering Batman. Trying to watch live stream was painful. It connected fine but it would buffer for about 5 seconds, play for a second, then buffer for 5 seconds. Until YTTV adjusted the video resolution down to 480p. Then it's smooth but pixelated like an 8 bit video game. Reset the resolution to HD and here comes the buffering again. So YTTV is out and won't be watching that on this machine. I will say that anything pre-recorded like regular YouTube does fine. After messing with YYTV, I decided to see what graphics drivers were installed thinking that would help. I did have to install the Radeon software suite that does the automatic driver updates and it did those fine. But it didn't help. Still the same buffering issues on YTTV and they don't even stream in 4K. I haven't even tried ESPN+ or other streaming sites. To say this little machine will do 4K streaming is false. It will display 4K resolution as in the desktop and windows, but not stream video in 4K. At least my unit isn't.Overall: It works for browsing and maybe some word processing but if you want to try and do any type of video watching or gaming, might want to look elsewhere. The network is far from advertised and I'm teetering on the fence whether to send this back and get a refund.
