I bought this as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend and he games for hours. He likes it and never complains of any pain from sitting in it like other chairs he's used.It was easy to assemble. I am 6'1 at 230lbs and cannot fit comfortably in this chair. The back support is great as well as the neck rest, but the flared sides of the bottom seat push on my thighs. This creates an uncomfortable session of gaming after 30min. So if you are a big guy, this chair is not for you. Also the chair does not rock, which I mistakenly thought all office chairs did, but apparently not.son loves it! easy to put together! it seems sturdy and solid, wide base and love the lumbar pillow.Update. Had this for a year now, no problems! The way the back connects, it tears out the bolts and no longer holds it up. I would not buy it again. As soon as I leaned back in the chair, the bottom of the bolts broke loose and now wont hold.I made some pix to go along with this review. Amazon may not keep them in order, but I numbered them. The instructions aren't all that great. It's just relatively small pictures with not so clear lines when it comes to the smaller stuff. Still, I was able to do it myself, with only 1 misstep (used the wrong screws for the arms). The arms can be widened or closed by about 2", from a slide on the bottom, but you will have to use them tool it comes with to unscrew them a bit. For all that, they're still awkwardly placed. Not very useful/comfy to me.The back holes are pretty odd to me, but they don't really seem to affect anything. The contours of the chair do make it quite comfy. The head pillow isn't all that useful to me, but the lower back pillow is great, and it can be easily slid up or down to preference. The base feels like a composite material, but very solid.Pic 1 - this is the only real issue I had. I can't get that seat even no matter what I tried. So far it hasn't felt like it creates a problem, but we'll see and I'll update if needed.Pic 2 - Just a clearer picture of the holes and pillows.Pic 3 - to show the pillow straps on the back. The instructions didn't cover placement at all.Pic 4 - an overexposed pic of the back straps in case someone has trouble seeing the other pic's black on black.I'm going with 2 stars because of the cruddy instructions, awkward arm position, uncomfy/skinny seat, and that uneven seat back I can't figure out, but it's still sturdy feeling.Don't forget to use the Smile.Amazon.com address - many things you buy every day will generate a small donation to the charity of your choice. So, you are looking at about a 1/3 of that price for this chair. Overall, if you are looking for this style of chair and to be fairly comfortable, but you are on a budget this is for you. However, I feel like this chair compromises too much on the quality for me to recommend it.Assembly of the chair was pretty straight forward. The directions were simple enough and everything lined up for the most part during assembly. Two plastic pieces on the side of the chair were the hardest to actually screw in, it took a lot of guessing where the hole is. The up/down motion is not the smoothest in the world. For the life of me, I can't get it to lean back for some reason. It requires me to push a lot of force on the back of the chair in order to lean back. This is not the case when it is reclined and definitely startled me the first time I almost flew back off the chair. The most annoying thing about the chair that I have experienced is the fact that it squeaks already! I can't believe it!The only saving grace of the chair is that it is quite comfortable. If you can overlook the quality issues, maybe this is the chair for you. I mean, it does look really cool to be fair! Its race-car looks make you want to sit in it, and in fact, it's comfortable and does feel like you're ready for the race track. I like that. Black and white was a good color choice, as it fits in any color scheme. But its good looks belie a handful of mechanical design problems. The up and down motion is not smooth like on most chairs. When I pull the lever to allow it to go down, it sticks a little. I have to bounce around a bit to make it go down. The armrests look fine, but they are cantilevered to the bottom of the chair to resist downward pressure, but not fore and back pressure. I sometimes use armrests to scoot forward or back in a chair, which means that I would have to pull or push on the armrests. That would cause a torsional force at the attachment point. Since you can't see what I'm talking about, take my word for it that using the armrests to slide forward or back in the chair would cause them to twist off over time. The lever that allows you to recline the back is fine when it not being used. But its path is blocked by the seat. To pull on the lever, you must "scrape" against the seat cushion with considerable pressure. I'm sure that it will cause damage after a number of uses. There should be clearance along the full path of the lever. The screw holes line up well during assembly - except for two. To attach plastic aesthetic covers to the sides, you have to find the screw holes by feel, or trial and error.Update: Wow, it has been a few weeks and the armrests are really getting wobbly. Nothing is loose, it's just a weak design. It is likely that in a few more weeks, they will fail completely. 3 stars reduced to 2 stars.
