My husband and I have used this for over 2 years and it still looks and feels exactly as it were when we first bought it. No threading along the edges. No visible signs of wear and tear. If you are looking for a good quality and durable office desk mat, then this is certainly a good buy and will serve you for years. If your purpose is for beyond normal office desk use, say gaming, then this may not be the mat for you. It is not meant for that.I bought this for my daughter, for a brand new IKEA desk I got her (for reference PÅHL Desk, 37 3/4x22 7/8 "). She is 5, so I did not want her to ruin the desktop with her art projects. The product ships rolled up, but is quick to lie flat after a few minutes. There was a minor production smell but nothing that airing it out outside for a couple hours didn't fix. The color is true on my monitor. Many things in her room are pink and the mat is more of a muted dusty rose color. I like this as too much pink can be overwhelming. The pad is pretty lightweight, so it does shift around on the desk if not held in place with some weighty objects. In any case, I do recommend this mat and I plan on purchasing one for my own desk.I work in an office that is more or less a storage closet - ha! - but I was able to carve out a little nook with a few pieces of eye candy, including this mat. I got the taupe/whiskey brown one. I like both colors, but prefer the taupe here to tone down all of that paneling. :o) The surface is slightly textured, somewhere similar to pebbled leather, which makes it look/feel a little more expensive than a smooth surface would (to me). The mat laid flat almost immediately, and it has a great feel to it. It makes me happy every time I look at it, and it brings a cohesiveness to the desktop that wouldn't be there otherwise. It's the biggest one I was able to find here online, and it's perfect.Because I would be working from home now I needed a mat for my laptop to sit on. Using a dining table as a desk, I didn’t want to potentially damage it. I am so glad I bought this mat! It does the job nicely and looks awesome. I have noticed that around the edges in some spots the mat is starting to curl. Possibly from prolonged use. To prevent it from curling even more I just simply flip the mat over. It helps that I have two colors (red on on side and black on the other) for a different look. In all, not a bad mat to use.This is a very nice desk mat/mouse pad. I use it to shoot my overhead videos for youtube, and it gives a nice backdrop for my ipad. It unrolled fine, and laid flat with not problems within the hour. It will slide around a bit, but when I have my ipad on it, it says put pretty well. Nice color, lighter than in the photo and I would not use the other side at all. Very silver looking on the camera especially. Works well, and It will protect my wood desk.Product looks exactly as pictured and is made of durable material. Just as nice as it’s more expensive counterparts.Love this! High quality; terrific protection for the desktop. Perfect size. Tiny pebbled texture looks so nice but is smooth enough for writing. Works great as a mousepad. Double-sided with stiched edge (not just glued). Really like the light brown (taupe) color. Wish the flip side was dark brown as advertised in item title - looks more like burnt orange (the Amazon product images do show the color pretty acccurately). Spilled coffee and wiped right up with no stain or discoloration. Didn't rate for durability as we've ony used it 3 days, but looks like it's built to last. No regrets on this purchase.This mat is absolutely stunning! It's sleek, and pretty. But able to be flipped over for a more manly color. It's very durable. I have 3 kids, all under the age of 8. They like to put items to the test! Let me tell you!!! Spills wipe right off. It seems like nothing sticks on this mat, which is awesome. There is so much space on this mat, that almost 2 laptops and 2 nice could sit on it. Almost. I simply laid it on my desk and decorated around as I would've without the mat. If your desk is getting worn down, or you just want to spruce your desk up... I highly recommend this product!The material used is too slippery. It slides off the desk very easily.
